The baseball season in the US doesn't start with any tough games.

First comes Spring Training, which takes place every year in February and March, when all MLB teams gather in warmer parts of the US to get ready for the season after the winter break.

During this time:

• teams are testing new players
• adjusting lineups for the new season
• they play friendly matches
• and fans have the opportunity to see baseball in a much more relaxed atmosphere than during the league

It's basically baseball's spring awakening.

Spring Training is traditionally played in only two locations in the US – and each has its own league.

🌵 Cactus League - Arizona

The teams train around the city of Phoenix in the desert environment of Arizona.
A typical symbol of this area is cacti, which also appear on this year's caps.

🍊 Grapefruit League - Florida

The second part of the teams is preparing in Florida, where orange trees, palm trees and tropical vegetation are typical.

It is these motifs – cacti, citrus or tropical flowers – that became the inspiration for the design of this year's collection.

Unlike classic MLB on-field caps, which must strictly adhere to team colors, New Era designers can afford a little more creativity with the Spring Training collection.

Typical elements of the collection:

• more colorful color combinations
• embroidery of cacti, flowers or citrus
• tropical details in team logo embroidery
• geometric or Aztec motifs inside the caps

It's a reference to the atmosphere of the places where spring training takes place – desert Arizona and sunny Florida.

The result is caps that still look like the classic MLB 59FIFTY, but have a much more playful character.

All models from this collection are based on the 59FIFTY cut, which has long been an icon of baseball caps.

However, these particular models are in the Pre-Curved version.

This means that:

• The hat has fitted sizes.
• maintains the solid 59FIFTY construction
• but the peak is already perfectly bent from the factory

So you don't have to deal with any bending at home - the hat is ready to wear right away.
