You know the MA-1 bomber from Alpha Industries in olive or black, with an orange lining. The lining is there because of downed pilots: they turned the jacket inside out so rescuers could spot them in the field. It was only shown off in an emergency.
Now New Era has sent it out onto the streets. The colors of four MLB teams, chenille numbers on the sleeves, World Series patches like on the side of a cap, and the city across the back. The cut stayed military, the rest belongs to the street.
Los Angeles Dodgers
A lowrider and West Coast in script on the chest, a big LA across the back. Lowriders are a whole culture in Los Angeles: lovingly customized cars cruising at walking pace just above the asphalt so everyone can see them.
Chicago White Sox
The only black one in the collection. The White Sox are named after white socks, hence the sock on the chest. On the shoulder there's a Chicago train car and South Side, the neighborhood where the team plays. The low collar lets the hood of your hoodie out.
New York Mets
When both the Dodgers and the Giants left New York, the new team took blue from the first and orange from the second so the city wouldn't lose its colors. Both are on the jacket, along with the Statue of Liberty and NY across the back.
New York Yankees
The navy blue the Yankees have always played in. The Statue of Liberty with The Empire State on the chest, a World Series patch on the sleeve. The calmest jacket of the four, until you turn around: a big NY runs across the back.
We only have a few pieces of each jacket, so if you wait until after the weekend, you'll be choosing from what's left.
