Custom Made Knitted Balaclava - Cloudy Teal

For about three winters we drooled over knitted balaclavas on Instagram that wouldn't make you look like a S.W.A.T. member... until, with a chilly January forecast coming up, we just knitted them ourselves!

Whenever we saw someone in our store wearing a balaclava, it always seemed like they could barely see out or were breathing hard under their nose. So we made a few prototypes, and the comfiest turned out to be a bigger opening — you can pull it down under your nose, under your chin, or all the way back like a hood, handy for walking into a room without startling the security guard at the library.

The balaclavas can also be worn comfortably with a cap. For fitted caps, sizing up is a good idea, but we've also tried our true-to-size models and that works too — check out the purple one in the photos.

So far we have 4 colors, one piece each, and depending on feedback and time we'll knit more!

If you fancy knitting one yourself for the money it'd cost, prepare for about 20 hours of frustration on your first prototype that won't fit you at all :D
We knitted using acrylic, which is what most things are knitted from these days. Hand wash at 30°C, or a gentle machine cycle. Please skip the dryer.
