About this brand
Helly Hansen
Značek, se zajímavým začátkem a dlouhou historií, máme na našem webu vedle těch mladších také slušně dlouhý zástup. Jednou z nich, je právě i Helly Hansen. Její zakladatel, Helly Juell Hansen, se už ve svých 14. letech plavil ze svého rodného Norska na moře s rybáři a zde pochopil, jak je oblečení důležité.
Později ve svých 35. letech, tedy v roce 1877, se rozhodl dodat to nejlepší, co jen pro své kolegy námořníky mohl. A tím byla pláštěnka!
Tu po domácku vlastnoručně spíchnul na koleni, společně se svou manželkou Maren Margarethe, s kterou tento brand založil. Během jediného roku jich prodali přes 10 tisíc kusů.
V roce 1914, tedy po Helly Juellově smrti, přešlo vedení firmy na jeho syna Hellyho Hansena. Ten se v čele firmy začal zajímat o nové materiály a druhy oblečení, které by nabízely stejnou nepromokavost, jako pláštěnky jeho otce. O několik let později, přišel tedy s vlastním, novým materiálem doplněným o plastové vlákno, jenž nazval „Linox“ (později celosvětově přejmenován na PVC).
